Ashley Albrecht

Ashley graduated from High Point University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in interior design. She recently accepted a position with Arc|Com as an account executive for Maryland and the Greater Baltimore area where she calls on the A&D community and dealerships. Arc|Com is a leading textiles and wall covering supplier in the contract industry.  Ashley previously worked for more than five years in the design department for American Office, one of the largest commercial furniture dealerships in the US. Later she was promoted to the Architectural & Design Consultant for the Baltimore area.

As director of design at Sherrill Furniture Companies, Megan designs, collaborates and manages casegoods, upholstery and occasional collections among the eight companies under the Sherrill Furniture umbrella.  She graduated summa cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design.  She has worked for Design Dimension Inc. as lead exhibit and structural designer and at Heritage Home Group as director of home furnishing product design.

Will graduated from North Carolina State University where he majored in industrial engineering with a concentration in furniture manufacturing.  After graduation, he joined Schneider Electric where he has worked in a number of sales roles.  Will moved from Raleigh to Baton Rouge to Houston, where he sells process automation products and services to many market segments, ranging from water and wastewater to oil and gas.  His hobbies still include being on the water or in the woods every chance he gets.

Jennifer received a degree in interior design from High Point University. She has been working at Universal Furniture in High Point, NC since 2010 as an interior designer for their showroom as well as working with dealers throughout the country creating visual merchandising displays.  She married her best friend, Erik, in 2013 and had twin boys in August 2016.

James Ellis

James graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in industrial design/furniture program.  He teaches woodworking classes as an adjunct instructor at Western Piedmont Community College in Morganton, NC.  James also works with the BRIDGE program through the North Carolina forestry service and WPCC, where he teaches inmates how to operate CNC machinery.  James was recently awarded a two-year contract to design and oversee construction on kiosks that will accommodate a new trail system for mountain biking, running and walking on the WPCC campus.  In addition, James found time to start his own company, The Twisted Chisel, a studio in a local woodworking business with his girlfriend and fellow scholar, Kasia Sweeny, where they create commissioned and one-off custom pieces of furniture.

Evan Fay

Evan graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design with a BFA in furniture design.  After graduation Evan worked under the Dutch designer Kiki can Eijk and Joost van Bleiswijk in The Netherlands as a product developer.  In 2016 he graduated with a Master’s Degree in 3D Design from Cranbrook Academy of Art.  Currently Evan is working to develop an independent design/build furniture studio (Evan Fay Design) based in Detroit, MI while continuing his role as fabrications coordinator at Cranbrook Academy of Art.  Recent exhibitions of his work include Detroit Design Week (2015-2016) and Collective Design Fair NYC (2016). Upcoming exhibitions include the Interior Design Show Toronto (2017) and Salone Satellite together with Salone del Mobile Milano (2017).  Some of Evan’s recent work has been featured in Interior Design Magazine, Fashion Times, Core77 and Curbed.

Stacy graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI with a degree in furniture design.  She’s currently a bartender at a craft cocktail lounge in Grand Rapids, MI.  She hasn’t pursued a career in furniture, but has found great value in all of the knowledge and opportunity that KCAD and Celia Moh Scholarship have afforded her.  Her passion for learning and creating are stronger than ever.  She is pursuing an MFA in visual arts and is applying to schools to begin that program in fall of 2018.  She spends her free time painting and drawing mixed media still lifes and portraiture.

Emily is originally from Calhoun City, Mississippi.  Upon graduation from Mississippi State University with a degree in interior design, she accepted an internship with Gensler in Dallas, TX.  Following her internship, she transitioned into a full-time position as a designer within Gensler’s Lifestyle studio.  She specializes in retail and automotive projects.  She also became a LEED Green Associate and is two exams away from becoming a licensed interior designer.  She says she is blessed to be a part of the Celia Moh family.

Brian Harris

Trenton Huffines

After graduating North Carolina State University in 2011 with  a bachelor’s in industrial design, Trent worked in the NCSU Distance Education and Technology Department, was a tooling designer at Frost Converting Systems, Inc., and a space and graphic designer for the Entrepreneurship Initiative at NCSU, and became a Special Operations Candidate and Airman First Class, E-3 in the United States Air Force.  He also worked as a field crew leader with Structural Inspections and was a project manager at Tower Engineering Professionals, Inc.  Trent is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Commercial Construction Management at Auburn University in Alabama.  In his graduate research he is focusing on sustainable housing design for developing countries, primarily for the jungles of Panama.  Additionally, Trent continues to work as a marketing and technical advisor for his family’s interior design business, Cynthia Huffines & Associates, which continues to grow serving clients along the East Coast.   Trent spends his free time renovating and flipping houses, duck hunting and backpacking with his younger brother and stays active in his local church.  He also recently returned from a mission trip to Ecuador, where his team constructed a day care facility and church addition in an underdeveloped area of the capital city of Quito.

Josh graduated from North Carolina State University with a BS in industrial engineering and business management.  He went on to obtain his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Wake Forest University School of Business.  Josh has worked for Kollmorgen, A Danaher Company, since graduating NCSU.  His many positions at Kollmorgen have included quality engineer, purchasing engineer, area manager, product specialist, product line manager, business unit manager, and Danaher business system leader.  Currently Josh is the director of global product marketing. After graduating from High Point University with a degree in home furnishings and a minor in sales, Sarah moved to Northern Virginia to pursue a career Crate & Barrel, a leading home furnishings retailer.  Sarah has been with the company for two years and has had the opportunity to advance quickly within the organization.  Currently she is a furniture sales manager for the Tysons Corner location, which is one of the company’s largest of their 83 locations in the United States. In addition, Sarah is also the wedding registry coordinator at her store, where she plans and executes all the Private Registry events that are held at the store 2-3 times a month.  Event planning is also a personal hobby of hers that she thoroughly enjoys outside of work.

Peter graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2004 with a BFA degree in furniture design. He founded Peter Jacob Kind Creative in July 2007.  It is a product design company centered on the idea that quality in design should be a given and that kind, open and collaborative communications should be too.  Peter has also worked for Theodore Alexander as an accessories designer and developed a successful line of seating for Wesley Hall.

Katherine graduated from Appalachian State University in May 2010 with a BS in interior design.  She currently works for CBI as an independent contractor.  Her previous employers include ENVI Studios, Manning Design Group, Carolina Business Interiors and IA Interior Architects.

Taylor Webb

Taylor graduated from Mississippi State University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in interior design. She currently works for Corgan as an interior designer. Previously, she held positions with with Bank of York, Something Southern Designs & Furnishings, Callison, and Callison RTKL.

Keri Wilder Ayscue

Keri graduated from East Carolina University with a BS in interior design. She currently Phillips Architecture as a senior associate, where she handles all aspects of project design from programming to construction observation.  Keri specializes in commercial interiors.

Martha Gray Deans Shelton

Martha graduated from East Carolina University with an interior design degree and a minor in business.  She currently works for Upon The Rock Granite & Marble in sales and design.  The company is a small, family owned natural stone fabrication business located in Wake Forest, NC.  Martha also spends a few hours a week helping design and project manage for a small building company.
