Annie Beuker

Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Annie followed the furniture industry to High Point, North Carolina where she studies Interior Design at High Point University. As a rising senior, Annie has a passion for residential interiors. She has worked for Century Furniture for the last three years and enjoys learning about the home furnishings industry through the High Point Market every fall and spring. Annie loves to bring her creativity into everything she does. She is also involved with the Interiors and Home Furnishings Club on HPU’s campus as well as serving as a leader for College Life and Campaigners.

Jacob Blok

Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jacob developed a keen interest in design and craftsmanship. A growing interest in furniture led him to Kendall College’s furniture design program, where he is finishing his second year. Jacob participated in several student woodworking competitions in high school, and in the 2010 Design Emphasis competition. His goal is a career in the design and manufacturing of high-end, custom furniture. His other interests include time with friends and family, cooking, volunteering, camping, hiking, biking and fishing.

Ethan Creasman

Ethan Creasman is an Industrial Design major at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Growing up in Mills River, NC, Ethan interned under a local architect. Following this passion he attended UNC-Charlotte to study architecture. After seeing the opportunities that industrial design had to offer, he transferred to Appalachian State. As a designer he strives to make his works user-centered and engaging. In the past two years he believes that involvement in IDSA and other design events have helped hone his talents. When not designing, Ethan can be found snow skiing, wakeboarding and taking photos at the next great location.

Will Eatmon

Will Eatmon, from Smithfield, NC, is finishing his senior year at NC State where he is majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a concentration in Furniture Manufacturing and a minor in Statistics. Upon graduation, he has aspirations of working with a North Carolina furniture manufacturer and discovering how eCoupled technology might be used in the furniture world. Will enjoys spending his free time outdoors, especially on the water.

Jennifer Gates

Jennifer Gates, a native of Cleveland, Mississippi, is a rising senior at Mississippi State University majoring in Interior Design and minoring in General Business Administration. Jennifer serves as an Ambassador and Dean Council member for MSU’s College of Architecture, Art and Design, is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers and participates in numerous interior design competitions. Jennifer is also a member of various honor societies including the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Phi Kappa Phi, Order of Omega, Sigma Alpha Lambda and many others. Upon graduating, Jennifer hopes to continue her education by pursuing a Master’s degree in Urban Design.

Brian Harris

Originally from Hershey, PA, Brian Harris moved to North Carolina in 2007 when he switched majors from Mechanical Engineering to Industrial Design. He has held a vice chair in the Appalachian State student IDSA chapter for the past two years and was recently elected as president of the club. Brian enjoys participating in design events, especially if they involve traveling and he looks forward to events such as Design Week NYC as he feels such events help make him a better designer. Brian enjoys riding motorcycles, restoring cars, meeting new people, traveling and experiencing new cultures, and taking part in video gaming industry development in his spare time.

Haley Haverstock

Mississippi State junior Haley Haverstock is majoring in Interior Design and has maintained a 4.0 during her college career. She is active in the Delta Gamma Sorority and is a prestigious Alumni Delegate. She is president of the student chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers. She is also a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society, Order of Omega Honor Society and National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Haley was awarded the Lynda M. Clark memorial endowed scholarship and recently was awarded the first prize in the Day Brite competition scholarship.

Justine Nicholson

Justine is from Mount Holly, North Carolina. She is a senior at North Carolina State University majoring in Industrial and Systems Engineering with a concentration in Furniture Manufacturing and Management. Justine hopes to experience new things, new cultures, new environments and travel the world. Her dream career would be travel to the countries that are exporting furniture to the United States and investigate the current logistics strategies and how to improve them. Justine enjoys being outdoors, exercising, dancing, meeting new people and volunteering in her community.

Dana Skelton

Dana is a junior studying Industrial Design at North Carolina State University. She enjoys exploring furniture and lighting concepts through her design projects. In the spring of 2011, she participated in a group competition to develop a bench concept at NC State. The design received an honorable mention. She aspires to develop products that are sustainable, user-friendly and will be celebrated in the home. Dana also enjoys pool, basketball and golf.

Shannon Taylor

Shannon Taylor is a senior at High Point University, double majoring in Home Furnishings and Marketing, with a minor in Interior Design and is a returning Celia Moh Scholar. After graduation she will aspire to enter the furniture industry in showroom management or furniture marketing. She is a Presidential Scholar, a sister of Phi Mu Sorority, a member of the Alpha Chi Honors Fraternity, and was recently inducted into the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society. She immensely enjoys studying foreign languages and works as a tutor in the High Point University Academic Services Center for French and Italian. She also enjoys volunteering, reading, painting, and spending time with her dog.

Daniel Unites

Daniel is from Boiling Springs, North Carolina. He is currently studying Industrial Design as a sophomore at North Carolina State University. He is a member of IDSA and enjoys drawing, playing tennis and trap shooting. When Daniel graduates he aspires to be a successful industrial designer. He hopes to improve what is in homes today and make furnishings that are innovative, especially focusing on functionality and beauty at the same time.

Meaghan Wade

Meaghan is a senior in the Home Furnishings program at High Point University with a double minor in History and Art History. She is very active on campus, serving as a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, Order of Omega Greek honor society, Steward for the Hayworth Memorial Chapel, and University Ambassador. In the spring of 2011, Meaghan was elected class president for the class of 2012. Her hobbies include sailing and reading. After graduating in May 2012, she hopes to work and attend graduate school to pursue a career in education.
